Individuals at this course need to do installation of LPG cylinders for the new connection at customer’s kitchen, Commercial and Industrial cylinders installation, following standard safety procedures.
ICreating customer awareness regarding the safe usage of LPG and allied equipment as well as DO’s and DON’T’s in case of emergency. Technical knowledge for attending complaints of LPG product, LPG CVR equipment, burners, stove, Suraksha hose, demonstrate customer centricity, foresee potential obstacles and hazards that may occur.

LPG Mechanics Program
The need for LPG mechanic course was felt by all OMCs for improving the safety in use of LPG in Domestic and Commercial installations and accordingly Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) has developed a Qualification pack (QP) with proper job role for fresh skilling/ Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)/Entrepreneurship and Self-employment.
The training program for initial few batches will be run by SDI Bhubaneswar in coordination with all OMCs and supported by Odisha State Office (OSO), Bhubaneswar.
The faculty is being sourced from the in-house serving/retired officers from OMCs, distributors and professional training agencies.
The training will be done in multiple locations based on the space available in the district headquarters of Odisha. Wherever possible the space available in terminals / locations of OMCs is proposed to be used.
To start with two programs on up-skilling with Recognition for Prior Learning Certification through Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) is being conducted in Bhubaneswar with a batch size of 30 to 40 Mechanics in a temporary conference hall / classroom with the display and demonstration of basic domestic / commercial LPG and connected safety equipment and M&R.
At the end of the training the participants shall be assessed for the competencies acquired by LPG mechanics as indicated in the QP and certificate shall be issued to all qualified Mechanics by Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC).
This is a skill set covering the fundamental safety requirements for installation, service and repair of LPG systems retail, service and repair industry.
The skill set targets mechanics who require the skills and knowledge to install, service and repair LPG systems and components Domestic LPG installations. IOCL, BPCL & HPCL identified initial batch of 39 nos mechanics requiring Skill training and certification.
